What the APMLE Part 1 actually is.

The basic-sciences board every podiatry student has to pass. Here is exactly what you are walking into.

Part 1 is four hours of four-option multiple choice, taken at the end of your second year, and you have to pass it before you can sit for Part 2. It is built and administered by the NBPME and delivered through Meazure Learning. Scoring is criterion-referenced: you are measured against a fixed standard of 75, not curved against other students, and a set of unscored pretest questions is mixed in that does not count toward your result.

Your Part 1 prep, mapped.

A clear path from your first practice block to exam day, using every part of the platform.

Step 01

Find your gaps

Run a quick quiz across all seven areas. Your dashboard shows your percentile and which subjects are putting you at risk.

Step 02

Drill where the points are

Build custom tests on your weak subjects. Lower Extremity Anatomy alone is a quarter of the exam, so that is where time pays off most.

Step 03

Practice like exam day

Switch to timed exam mode, with the lab-values reference and question navigator, so the real thing already feels familiar.

Step 04

Turn misses into reps

Every wrong answer comes with a full explanation, and a one-click wrong-answers quiz sends them straight back to you.

How many questions is the APMLE Part 1, and how long is it?
205 four-option multiple-choice questions over four hours. There is no penalty for guessing, so you should answer every question.
What score do I need to pass?
A scaled score of 75. It is pass/fail and criterion-referenced, meaning you are measured against a fixed standard rather than curved against other test-takers. Passing scores are not reported as a number.
When do students take Part 1?
Typically at the end of the second year of podiatric medical school. You have to pass Part 1 before you can sit for Part 2.
How close are UPod's questions to the real exam?
They are written to the published APMLE Part 1 blueprint and presented in the same format: clinical vignettes, four options, real images and histology, and a built-in lab-values reference in exam mode.
Is this a subscription?
No. UPod is a one-time purchase. You choose your access length, pay once, and nothing renews. You are never billed again.
How long do I get access?
Your access matches your plan: 90 days on the 3-Month plan, and a full 180 days on either 6-Month plan. Access starts when you purchase.
What happens when my access ends?
When your access term ends (90 days on the 3-Month plan, 180 days on the 6-Month plans), the question bank locks. Because there is no subscription, there is nothing to cancel and you are never charged again. Your account remains, and you can purchase a new access pass at any time to regain access.
Can I study on my phone?
Yes. UPod is built mobile-first, so you can run quizzes, read explanations, and track your progress on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
What are Premium Questions?
Our hardest, most exam-realistic questions, the closest practice to the real Part 1 we offer. They are included in the 6-Month + Premium plan, or can be added to any plan later for $199.
Are Parts 2 and 3 included?
No. UPod is Part 1 today. Parts 2 and 3 are in development and will run on the same account and progress history when they launch.
Is it aligned to the current APMLE Part 1 blueprint?
Yes. Subject coverage and weighting are mapped to the published APMLE Part 1 blueprint, across all seven areas the exam tests.
Which schools is UPod for?
Every student at all 11 U.S. podiatric medical schools, including the newest programs at UTRGV and LECOM.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. Because access to the full question bank unlocks immediately, purchases are non-refundable once access is granted. The only exceptions are genuine billing errors, like a duplicate charge or paying without receiving access, which we will always make right at support@upod.app. See our refund policy for full details.
